Dear Reader (including those who have not yet been abducted by aliens),
A strange thing has been happening in my neighborhood recently. This past Shabbos I was walking home from my shul and I saw a rooster walking around. I wanted to have him for lunch (with some fava beans and a chianti if you catch my drift) but I couldn’t catch him. Monday morning a friend of mine was able to catch him on
“film” and sent me a picture of him. Here is the picture so you don’t think I’m crazier than you already think.
It may have been looking for a minyan. The question is why did the rooster cross the street in Flatbush? Leave an answer in the comments.
One of the subjects I enjoy, and I think I mentioned it on the podcast, is the topic of Biblical Archeology. There is something cool when there is a discovery that falls into line with what the Torah says happened or gives you some insight into things the Torah mentions. Here are two recent examples:
A Personal Request
I don’t ask for subscriptions or have ads on the podcast. The reason for this is that I enjoy making the podcast and this museletter. However, there is an organization that is near and dear to my heart having their fundraiser this week. Project613 is an organization run by my brother-in-law (and sister) in Chicago. They work on reaching out to young professionals who are interested in getting in touch with their Jewish roots. Here is the link to their fundraising website and if you feel this is something worthwhile, contribute a little. All donations are tripled by anonymous donors.
On the Next Episode
We’ll be recording in our usual Sunday slot at 3 pm EST (I think that will be the last week of EST). In this episode, we will discuss prayer and what it means to a Jew. In addition, we will have feedback, some news articles, and the usual hijinks and tomfoolery.
Until next time, remember that time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana!
